Stage set for BRAVE International Combat Week

Manama, Nov.11 (BNA): The BRAVE International Combat Week and the World Championships Amateur Mixed Martial Arts will start on Sunday under the patronage of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee.
The major events that will last until November 19, are organized by the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF), in partnership with the Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Federation (BMMAF), and in cooperation with the Media Office of HH Shaikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa.
His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport, President of Bahrain Athletics Association, Honorary Chairman of the BMMAF, gave his thanks to HH Shaikh Nasser for sponsoring this championship, assuring that HH is keen on supporting these sporting events that reflect Bahrain’s bright image in hosting global sporting events.

HH Shaikh Khalid welcomed the players and countries participating in the event and explained that the Kingdom of Bahrain will be the focus of world attention at the opening of the World Championships Amateur Mixed Martial Arts. The opening ceremony and competitions will be awaited and we assure the world that Bahrain is capable of hosting various world championships.
He said that the participation of (51) countries from around the world in this event is a clear indication that the amateur mixed martial arts competitions are spreading around the world, pointing out that Bahrain was able to break all records in terms of size of participation.

He praised the distinguished efforts of the committees working in the championship and wished all the success to the participating players. His Highness mentioned that the participation of this large number in the tournament will give it a distinctive edge in terms of honest competition for the top positions.
