Nasser bin Hamad: Bahrain Merida Source of Inspiration to Bahrainis

Manama, Feb. 2 (BNA): Bahrain Merida Cycling Team organised a race tour with more than 200 cyclists from different nationalities. The tour was held for 50 kilometres. President of Bahrain Cycling Association His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa gave the starting signal of the race which covered several areas of the Southern Governorate amid fierce and robust competition among participating cyclists. On this occasion, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa affirmed that Bahrain Merida Cycling Team would be the best ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain in upcoming tournaments.
“We will participate in the coming tournaments, and our eyes set only on the podium. We will do our utmost to achieve the goals we have set since the official inauguration of the team. Bahrain Merida Cycling Team has a solid lineup and can make achievements,” HH Shaikh Nasser said.
“The race tour which was organised by Bahrain Merida Cycling Team was beneficial for all the participants, especially since it witnessed the participation of more than 200 cyclists of different nationalities,” HH Shaikh Nasser added, pointing out that Bahraini cyclists have a great interest in this sport.
HH Shaikh Nasser said that the aim of organising such tours is to promote practising sport in the Bahraini society in order to create a culture of friendship, sports spirit and a healthy lifestyle.
Shaikh Khalid extended his appreciation to HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his continued support to the cycling sport, stating that the participating of this number of cyclists in this competition proves that the race was a great success.
