Manama, Apr. 4 (BNA): Marking Arab Orphan Day, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today at Safriya Palace received HM the King Representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs also Board Chairman of the Royal Charity Organisation (RCO), HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and the accompanying RCO’s delegation and a group of Bahraini orphans, who expressed appreciation of HM the King’s support and care for Bahraini youth and orphans.
HM the King lauded the RCO’s efforts in promoting charity work at the local and international levels. He also commended the RCO’s programmes aimed at providing care for Bahraini orphans, as well as humanitarian aid for refugees and needy people of Arab countries.
HM the King directed to provide extra care and support for all orphans, widows and needy citizens based on Islamic principles, Bahraini traditions and spirit of friendship and tolerance enjoyed by Bahraini people.
HM the King expressed confidence that the Bahraini youth would actively contribute to the progress and development march witnessed by the homeland, as well as to promote its standing in international forums. He wished the RCO success in bringing further humanitarian achievements and to provide extra care for orphans.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa expressed thanks to HM the King for meeting the Bahraini orphans, which reflects the royal interest in supporting them to enjoy a decent life.
He said the RCO have been working in line with the royal directives on honing the orphans’ personalities to reintegrate them in the society. He pointed out that HM the King’s support for the Bahraini orphans reflects his care for all people of Bahrain, which is a great impetus for delivering more efforts to provide comprehensive care for Bahraini orphans.
RCO Secretary-General Mustafa Al-Sayed, in his speech, took pride in HM the King’s keenness on developing services for Bahraini orphans and widows. He noted the royal initiatives on offering assistance for stricken countries and establishing health and education projects there. He also noted the commendation of international organisations for the royal interest in promoting the ROC, which accentuates the success of the royal reforms.
He said the RCO have launched a five-year strategy in conformity with the royal vision to maintain the RCO’s achievements and mirror Bahrain’s bright image at the international humanitarian forums.
Through the strategy, the RCO seeks achieving investment financial structure to ensure its continuity in the interest of charity works, he added.
He vowed to continue working to bring the royal vision to reality and provide best services to all categories of Bahraini people.
At the end of the meeting, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa presented the RCO’s annual achievement report 2016 to HM the King . He also presented HM the King with a commemorative gift to mark Arab Orphan Day.
