Cairo, Aug. 12 (BNA): The Minister of Justice of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Counselor Hosam Ahmed Abdel-Reheem, received at the Ministry Headquarters today, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Dean of the Arab Diplomatic Corps and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa.
Ambassador Shaikh Rashid affirmed the deep brotherly relations of partnership between the two countries, stressing the importance of finding new ways to enhance cooperation and coordination to achieve common interests.
The ambassador reviewed the outstanding achievements of the Kingdom during the era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, noting His Majesty’s comprehensive reform approach towards modernisation and progress, the establishment of the state of institutions and law, justice, and independence and impartiality of the judiciary. He also highlighted the intensive efforts and initiatives aimed at ensuring the continuous development of the judiciary and building national cadres.
He pointed out that justice is one of the principles of the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, to ensure that everyone enjoys development, protection of rights and attraction of investments, noting that the independence of the judiciary is closely linked to the effectiveness of the judicial system.
In this regard, the ambassador stated that the Kingdom has achieved an advanced rank in the Global Competitiveness Report 2017-2018 of the World Economic Forum (Davos) in Switzerland. He added that that such achievement reflects the support of the leaders towards the Judicial Branch as it is one of the foundations of development, strengthening the justice and law systems and ensuring the success of the Strategic Plan of the Judiciary 2020 to establish rights and freedoms under the constitution and the law to all members of the society.
Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa affirmed the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to support judicial cooperation with the Arab Republic of Egypt in light of the agreements signed between the two countries. He commended the constructive Bahraini-Egyptian cooperation in the judicial and legal fields and valued the distinguished contributions of Egyptians to the education and judiciary in the Kingdom. He stressed the importance of uniting efforts to promote the values of moderation, coexistence and tolerance, as well as rejecting extremism and combating incitement to hatred, violence and terrorism.
The Egyptian Minister of Justice praised the relations of joint cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Arab Republic of Egypt, stressing his country’s keenness to develop these relations in various areas, especially in the judicial field. He appreciated the brotherly and positive stances of the Kingdom of Bahrain in supporting the process of stability and development in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The meeting also discussed a number of issues of common interest and reviewed ways to enhance and develop cooperation in the field of justice.
