Bahrain, Chechnya hold talks

Manama, Apr. 5 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today at Sakhir Palace received President Ramzan Kadyrov of the Republic of Chechnya and the accompanying delegation in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister.
After the Chechen President was accorded an official reception, the two leaders reviewed bilateral relations and ways to develop them in various fields, as well as the latest regional and international developments and topics of joint interest.

HM the King highlighted Bahrain’s keenness on strengthen cooperation, chiefly in economic areas, in the interest of the two countries and their people.

The Chechen President underlined his country’s interest in bolstering cooperation with Bahrain in various sectors, praising Bahrain’s development achievements under the royal leadership.

He pointed out the Russian President Vladimir Putin’s respect for HM the King, wishing the people of Bahrain further progress and prosperity.

Following the talk session, a lunch banquet was held in honour of the Chechen President and accompanying delegation.

The Chechen President had earlier arrived today in Manama where he was received by Foreign Affairs Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa.

A convoy of honour was formed under the chairmanship of Bahrain’s Ambassador to Russia.
