I wish the best for the brother ministers who joined us in this council and I would like to thank the General Secretary of Arab Interior Ministers Council, Dr Mohammed bin Ali Kouman and all those who are working in the General Secretariat for their ongoing interactions and preparations for this meeting.

Your Highnesses and Excellencies, this session is taking place after the Arab Summit that was held in Jordan last week and aimed to support Arab solidarity and unification of efforts and stances of importat issues in the Arab world, especially Arab security that is an ssential matter to Their Majesties and Highnesses Arab leaders. This motivated us to work harder out of our role as police personnel to deal with regional challenges. Your Highnesses and Excellencies, the Arab world has witnessed various security challenges and conflicts and the expansion of tensions and security disturbances . The general security situations indicate that we are dealing with serious security conditions in many areas that are coincided with contrast in stances. This hinders development programmes and national energies, and considers as a clear target of the Arab identity that is the source of our strength and what makes us gather in this hall and push for further cooperation.

About the reflection of such condition on the security situations in Bahrain, by grace of God we have foiled many terror plots that were planed and backed by terrorists in Iran and Iraq as proven by evidences. The Kingdom of Bahrain under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa asserted its dedication to confront terrorism, hence it needs regional and Arab support to fight terrorism through all legal means to dry their sources and extremism thoughts.

I would like to thanks the brothers once against who showed support to steps taken by the Kingdom of Bahrain to protect its security and safety. Your Highnesses and Excellencies, the efforts of the council continues during the last session, through many meetings to ensure ongoing interaction and unification of efforts to come out with recommendations that could push forward the Arab security operation process to meet the latest developments.

Despite the council’s achievements and its major contributions in the reinforcement of security cooperation, there is a need to review the achievements and what we want to accomplish for the best results in accordance to the new security standards and concepts. I would like to conclude this speech by inviting brother Hedi Majdoub, Tunisian Interior Minister to chair the session, wishing him all the success in supporting the Arab security cooperation process and work with Their Highnesses and Excellencies Interior Ministers to achieve the goals of the council. Peace, mercy and blessings of God.
